Mid week of week 4! Airdome, free swag, and mountain update!

Hey campers and people who wish they were here!

Once again the camp is filled with frowning faces as the 5 day campers are realizing they have to head home tomorrow. We are getting ready to give away all the swag to the campers and send them home after a huge pizza party, with prizes and contests. I am sad to see this week’s campers leave as they were great kids and great riders. I hope we get to see them again next year, but for now they are excited to show all their local riders how much better they’ve become after just a few days here!

Yesterday we had a foam pit session. Camp of Champions is renting out the Airdome on Monday and Wednesday nights for private foam pit sessions. The campers last night were treated to riding by riders such as Phil Sundbaum and Jordie Lunn. Phil was killing it; he was airing out of one of the quarter pipes about five feet above the “coping.” Phil is a great rider and was really neat to watch him ride. Jordie Lunn stopped by and threw down for the kids. They were stoked to watch Phi slay the step up’s and watch Jordie hit the foam pit.

In mountain news, the dual slalom course looks AMAZING! I cannot wait to hit those berms. They look perfect! To give an overview of the course, the riders start facing each other and drop in and then corner down the hill to an almost satellite berm to more corners with jumps right out of them. It looks like so much fun! Speaking of berms, Ninja Cougar looks like it is nearing completion. The upper berms look amazing, and the new top section looks almost done. The armoring work on the exit looks to be done, and once it is covered in dirt it should be opened. The rumor I am hearing is right after Crankworx.

The campers that remain for the next few days are excited, as the conditions on the mountain are dry, all the trails are open, and everything is dialed! They are all going to sleep early as we have to ride tomorrow, then foam pit in the evening! Tomorrow is also the Phat Wednesday race. Expect a big update tomorrow!
